At TAIB, we are proud to announce that our principal investigator, Nick Riddiford, has won the prestigious Nature of Scotland award of the RSPB, which recognises and celebrates excellence, innovation and exceptional achievement in nature conservation in Scotland.


Riddiford ‘s award was in the marine conservation category in recognition of his efforts, along with those of the people of Fair Isle where he lives, to seek sustainable management and protection for the waters around Fair Isle through theFair Isle Marine Environment & Tourism Initiative (FIMETI).


The award, sponsored by the Scottish agency responsible for the marine environment and fish, Marine Scotland, was presented by the Scottish fisheries minister, Richard Lochhead, during a ceremony celebrated in Edinburgh on 30th October 2013.
